I wanted to share something God put on my heart this morning. I was having my time with him, and happy to journal, and pray, and read his word. He reminded me how good it is to praise him . . . simply worship him. I realized that so often I run off in to my day and don't just worship! I was also reminded of two great instances in scripture that worship led to our sweet God setting up ramparts for protection and giving out sweet blessing.
The first one is Leah. She was the (seemingly) lesser of the two sisters and the second choice after Rachel. She had a number of sons, but with her fourth son, she said "This time I will praise the Lord. So she named him Judah" (Genesis 29: 35). The second is King Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 20:21-22). He worshipped and as he worshipped, the Lord defeated his enemies. "Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness. As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon . . . "
For Leah, her fourth son was in the lineage of Christ and when Jacob was buried, he asked to be buried next to Leah (not Rachel)! And with Jehoshaphat, the victory from the battle was so great that it took three days to collect all the plunder! Not that we need something in return for praising God, but he always blesses us so!
Enjoy some amazing worship today:) Love you girls! Praying for you. xo
